Golf Cart Customization Options

Custom Paint Job and Seats

Our custom paint jobs are one of our most popular golf cart customization options, with our colored flames for California Roadster and 39 Roadster carts always attracting the attention of any golf cart fan. Also available for our Roadster carts is the woody paint job, where a wood-grain pattern is airbrushed onto the sides, hood, and back trunk.

Custom seats are also often seen with carts that have a custom paint job. At Prime Cart Parts, you can purchase custom two-tone seats for an Advanced EV golf cart, which we can then install at our service location for an additional charge. Other custom seats purchased elsewhere may also be able to be installed by our team.

Rims and Tires, Lift Kit

At our multiple store locations, we sell custom golf cart rims and tires, for standard street tires and bumpy lifted tires. Not only can we switch out your tires, we can also install a lift kit on certain brands of cart to raise it several inches, and allow it to have bigger tires for lifted carts.

Body Style

A variety of custom body shapes are available for common brands of golf cart like Club Car, EZGO, and Yamaha. This is when the front and/or back end of the cart is removed and replaced with a differently shaped body piece, which can be purchased separately from other stores. These body styles are most often similar to cars, and give the cart the appearance of a mini version of that car.

Among these are various types of lithium battery services, including installing a lithium battery system, and performing maintenance on a lithium battery that has an issue such as reduced driving time, fault lights coming on, or not charging when plugged in. These are all issues that our highly-trained team of technicians and mechanics can diagnose and repair, with quick service time and affordable pricing.

Lithium Battery Services Upgrade

Converting from a lead-acid battery system to a lithium battery system comes with a several benefits, and our lithium battery services team can provide. The most common type of golf cart batteries are lead-acid, usually coming in a set of 6 or 8. However, they have several disadvantages compared to lithium batteries – they are much heavier, have a shorter lifespan, and have much less driving range. Listed below are some of the many benefits that come with upgrading a golf cart to a lithium battery system.

Longer Lifespan: Lithium batteries can last for upwards of 10 years or more, while lead-acid batteries typically only last around 2 to 3 years when the cart is driven regularly. The driving range of lithium batteries can also increase with the more charging cycles it goes through during its lifespan.

Faster Charging Time: A lithium battery can recharge from a very low percentage to full in just about 5 hours, while lead-acid batteries can take up to 18 hours to fully recharge if they are very low. If run down too low, lead-acid batteries may not even be able to recharge with a regular charging cable. Lithium batteries can be run down to as low as 5% and still bounce back in just a few hours, with nothing more than a regular charging cable and a regular 110V house outlet.

Less Weight: Most lithium batteries typically weigh around 70 to 100 pounds, and only require one to power the cart. Lead-acid batteries can weigh around 50-60 pounds each, and when there’s a set of 6 or 8, it can add up to 400 pounds of extra weight to the golf cart. Installing a lithium battery will take off much of that weight, and can possibly allow your cart to drive faster, as it’s not weighed down as much.

No Maintenance: Unlike lead-acid batteries, which need to be refilled with distilled water every few months and have their terminals cleaned of corrosion, lithium batteries are sealed and do not require any maintenance. For seasonal residents who leave their carts in storage for several months at a time, a lithium battery will keep most of its charge as well, while lead-acid batteries will discharge over a period of many months without use.

Environmentally Friendly: Lithium batteries do not contain the same hazardous chemicals, such as lead and sulfuric acid, that lead-acid batteries do, and do not run the risk of giving off dangerous fumes when plugged in to charge.

Holiday in Paradise Palm Beach | Christmas Golf Cart Rental

Many of our golf cart rental customers rent a cart for an event in south Florida. Holiday in Paradise Palm Beach is a festival event featuring a giant sand tree and Ferris wheel, with synchronized music and light shows every evening of the event. The event duration is from December 5th to December 31st, and is located in Great Lawn, West Palm Beach Waterfront, 100 N. Clematis Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. Along with this is Winter Wonderland at The Ben, which features south Florida’s first and only real outdoor ice skating rink, along with food and beverages, music and entertainment, and a variety of activities for all ages. The event takes place from November 2nd, 2024 to March 1st, 2025 at The Ben West Palm, 251 N Narcissus Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33401.

Holiday in Paradise Palm Beach

This event features a 35 foot, 700 ton Christmas tree made of sand, and a 50 foot Ferris wheel – both of which light up. Other activities include a 50-ton sand bar and giant pirate ship where children can play, as well as 100 tons of various other sand sculptures.

Winter Wonderland at The Ben

This event features south Florida’s first and only outdoor ice-skating rink, where skate rentals are included in the price of entry. Along with ice skating is also festive food and beverages, including beer, wine, and cocktails, limited edition holiday merchandise, clothing, and novelties, and a gingerbread village.

Most of the golf carts we use for rentals are electric, since electric carts are street legal and many customers who rent do so in place of renting a car. Many customers ask about gas golf carts, as some rental locations – such as campgrounds, construction sites, and some AirBNB house rentals – don’t have a nearby outlet that an electric cart can plug into. Gas golf carts are far less common than electric ones, since they are not street legal. Most of our gas carts are used golf carts for sale – however, we are able to rent to customers when they are available.

Why aren’t gas carts street legal?

Gas carts used to be street legal in Florida – that is why they can sometimes be seen on public roads. However, this law was put into place somewhat recently, because gas carts cannot maintain the speed necessary to drive on roads. Electric carts have a maximum speed of 24mph, which is the required speed for a street legal low speed vehicle (LSV) to be able to drive on roads with a speed limit of 35mph or less, but gas carts can only reach an approximate speed of 15-20mph, depending on the brand and type of cart. Additionally, many gas golf carts are utility carts, with a box bed or flatbed in the back and only 2 seats. 2 passenger (as well as 8 passenger) carts – gas or electric – are not street legal; the only sizes of cart able to become certified as LSVs and driven on public roads are 4 passenger and 6 passenger.

At our Fort Lauderdale store, we have a small but extensive selection of golf cart sales and rentals also available. Golf Carts for Sale Fort Lauderdale

Many of our golf carts for sale Fort Lauderdale are street legal low speed vehicles (LSVs), meaning they come with a variety of safety features such as headlights, taillights, brake lights, seatbelts, side view mirrors, horn, turn signals, windshield, and a maximum speed of 24mph. This allows the cart to be registered as an LSV and drive on public roads with a posted speed limit of 35mph or less. When purchasing these carts, they already come with a 17-digit VIN number, and only need a tag and title before they can be driven on roads. Other carts that we have for sale have all of these features, but are not yet registered. These carts are referred to as street ready. Our non street legal carts, such as 2 passenger carts and gas golf carts, can be driven on back residential roads, as well as inside gated communities, or on golf courses, construction sites, or event venues.

What makes a golf cart street legal?

All street legal golf cars that we carry are either 4 passenger or 6 passenger electric carts. Gas golf carts are not street legal because they cannot maintain the speed required for road use (24mph). 2 passenger and 8 passenger carts are also not street legal, though we do offer them for rentals.

In order for a golf cart to be street legal, it must be registered with the DMV as a low-speed vehicle (LSV), meaning it is limited to a maximum speed of 24mph. Once registered, they can be driven and parked just like a regular car. Street legal golf carts can be driven on any roads with a speed limit of 35mph or less, and must have a tag (license plate) attached to the back. The back of the vehicle must also have an orange triangle sign attached that indicates that it is an LSV.

Our main store is located in Riviera Beach, and we have other showrooms in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Vero Beach, but we deliver all over the state, from Key Biscayne, to Okeechobee, to Melbourne beach, and many, many more. Recently, we’ve opened up our golf cart rental delivery to the west coast of south Florida as well, which includes Fort Myers, Naples, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, and more! Fort Myers Golf Cart Rental carries a variety of golf carts available for rental, including both street legal and non street legal 2, 4, and 6 passenger carts. Our street legal golf cart rentals are less than a year old, and come with all necessary safety features that make them suitable for public roads with a speed limit of 35mph or less, with headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, horn, and a maximum speed of 24mph. For events or construction sites, we also have non street legal utility carts for rental, available with either a flatbed or a box bed. Fort Myers golf cart rentals are also electric, and give off no harmful emissions and hardly make a sound when driving. Instead of having to fill up with gas, our electric carts can plug right into a standard 110V outlet – all of our rental carts come with a charging cable as well!

Popular in south Florida right now are not only golf carts, but electric bikes, often seen around the Fort Lauderdale beach area and in prevalent areas such as Las Olas Boulevard and Wilton Drive. While our street legal golf cart rentals can be driven on any roads with a speed limit of 35mph or less, electric bikes can be ridden practically anywhere with a bike lane, and are much more easily portable than a golf cart. Not only do we offer EBike rentals and EBike sales, but we have a variety of brands and models of electric bikes for all kinds of applications. For example, our folding EBikes are great for vacations or camping trips, since once they’re folded up, they take up very little room and can be easily stored under a desk or in the trunk of a car. City EBikes, or our standard model, are perfect for everyday use, including biking to work, school, or stores. Our fat tire EBikes are built for rough and uneven terrain, along with our mountain bikes, making them great for riding on a hiking trip, as they can easily maneuver and travel over gravel and rocky pathways.

Along with our various types of golf cart enclosures available for sale at Prime Cart Parts, we also carry a variety of golf cart storage cover products for golf cart brands such as Advanced EV/Icon®, Evolution, and EZGO. Golf cart storage covers differ from our enclosures in that they completely cover the golf cart in black fabric, in order to protect it from dust or scratches when it is brought into a storage location like a shed. The high-quality material also protects from rain, UV-rays, sand, snow, fog, and other severe weather conditions. All covers are black, and have a zipper for easy covering and removal.
